The "C" in the YMCA

The YMCA began it's mission in 1844 in London, England. Sir George Williams saw a culture in moral crisis and formed an organization to strengthen spiritual values through Christian teaching and practice. The Young Men's Christian Association in the 21st Century is no longer just for the young, or just for men, and we welcome people of all faiths. But we still strive after the same original mission—to strengthen the moral fabric of our society by following the teachings of Jesus and to make his prayer, as stated in our emblem in John 17:21, "That they all may be one..." a reality.

YOU will be expected to play a part in this mission. It is an important part of our work as camp staff. Staff are expected to take part and lead daily chapel services, leading graces at meals, facilitating cabin devotions in the evenings, and in general, being a moral compass among your peers and for young people to follow.
